About

Everything you need to know about Subnautica2Tools.

What is this?

Subnautica2Tools is a community-built set of tools for players of Subnautica 2. The centrepiece is an interactive world map with thousands of markers covering resource deposits, blueprint fragments, creature spawns, plant locations, and named biomes — all filterable by category, type, and depth.

The goal is a clean, fast, no-friction reference that loads instantly and works on any device.

How was the data collected?

Marker data was extracted from the game's world during early access exploration. Coordinates are stored as map latitude/longitude values derived from the game's internal XYZ world coordinates. Depth values are taken directly from world Y data.

If you spot an error — wrong position, missing marker, duplicate — let us know.

FAQ

Are the coordinates in-game coordinates?
Yes — the "Copy coordinates" button in each popup copies the in-game X / Y / Z world coordinates so you can use them directly with the Subnautica 2 debug console or teleport commands.
My custom pins are gone — what happened?
Pins are stored in your browser's localStorage. Clearing site data, using private/incognito mode, or switching browsers will clear them. They don't sync between devices.
Can I share a filtered map view with a friend?
Yes — the URL updates automatically as you zoom, pan, and change category filters. Copy the URL from your address bar and share it; anyone who opens it will land at the same position with the same filters active.
How do I measure distance?
Click the ruler button in the map toolbar (or press M), then click a start point and an end point on the map. The distance is shown in the banner at the bottom. Press Esc or click the ruler button again to clear.
Why are Resources and Wildlife hidden by default?
There are a large number of resource and wildlife markers — showing them all at once makes the map harder to read. Leviathans are always on by default as they're significant landmarks. You can re-enable any category from the sidebar at any time.
Will the map be updated as the game gets patches?
Yes — we aim to update marker data with each significant game update. Check the Changelog to see what's been added.
